Final Project

You are a senior service agency manager and you have been asked by your director to create a website that provides education and information on a variety of topics important to seniors. Your website must include the following pages:
•Home
•Health Care
•Caregiving Issues
•Elder Abuse
•Long-Term Care Issues
•One page of your choice that promotes a positive outlook on aging (Topics may include: leisure, the arts, travel, volunteering, lifelong learning, spirituality, recreation, living legacy journal, etc.)
•Useful Links

Each of these pages will be its own tab on the website.

Remember that visuals are not only attractive but also highly impactful. The use of well-chosen and well-placed images will add emphasis to your information. (See the Visiting Angels website for a sample of a website successfully geared toward our target population. See the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Division of Aging And Adult Services (DAAS) website for a sample of an unsuccessful website design for our target population.) You may wish to use the Key Points in Designing a Website for Older Adults guide for assistance in designing a website appropriate for older adults. You may also wish to use the Where to Get Free Images guide for assistance with accessing freely available public domain and/or Creative Commons licensed images.

To begin, review the elements required for each section of your project in the Creating the Website section below.
Next, visit the Wix website to familiarize yourself with this technology. Scroll down on the web page and click the pink arrow to view a quick video tour of the website platform. Note: This site is best viewed in Chrome or Firefox. Refer to the Wix Submission Quick-Start Guide for step-by-step-instructions on setting up your website.

If you experience any technical difficulties, please visit the Wix Support Center. The technical support offered through your Student Portal will not be able to assist you with the Wix website. If you are unable to utilize the Wix platform to complete this assignment and you have already watched the tutorial, read through the Quick-Start Guide, and contacted the Wix Support Center, please contact your instructor.

It is highly recommended that you complete any and all written work in a separate document first, and then cut and paste the required content into your web pages. Doing so will allow you to edit and save your work separate from the website, should anything occur that causes the website to fail. Additionally, you will be able to work on your content without having to remain connected to the Internet, and it may be easier to develop and edit your content in a document prior to publishing it on your website.

For the purposes of this class, clearly label the website as your course project. Although it will not be searchable to the general public, it will be publicly available and anyone who is given your specific site link will be able to view it.

To submit your URL, create a Word document that includes the following elements:
•Title of Project
•Student’s name
•Course name and number
•Instructor’s name
•Date submitted
•URL for your Wix website

Once you have received your final grade for this course, you have the option of deleting this website through your account with Wix.com.
